Leather stamps and leather embossing stamps

Leather embossing is probably one of the most noble and discreet finishing techniques. Leather embossing means to provide the leather with a picture, symbols, characters, patterns or other motifs, whereby the surface of the leather is formed in relief by pressure with appropriate tools such as leather stamps or machines.

Embossing can run over the entire surface of the leather (texture embossing), but there is also the possibility of embossing local individual motifs.

Such embossing can be made in particular by embossing dies. We manufacture these for you from brass or steel, depending on your requirements.

 

 

There are different types of embossing dies to create a leather embossing. Which leather embossing stamp is suitable depends on the desired embossing and on the selected leather.

• Blind embossing stamps
  Blind embossing stamps are used in particular by print shops for embossing patterns, motifs or lettering on leather covers without ink or gold. The leather stamp is heated for blind printing. It is crucial to check the temperature precisely, as too much heat would burn or even cut through the leather. The stamp is then stamped into the moistened leather with constant pressure, so that the leather is deformed three-dimensionally. The result is blind embossing as a dark, shiny impression. Vegetable-tanned leathers with an open surface are best suited for this embossing.


• Hand embossing stamps
  Hand embossing stamps are hammered into the leather by hand to achieve the desired embossing. This type of leather stamping is particularly suitable for smaller series, such as logos, monograms or other individual markings. Only thicker genuine leather types should be used for this embossing.


• Machine leather embossing stamps
  Machine leather embossing dies are used for machine embossing on presses for leather embossing machines. Due to their machine guidance, these leather embossing dies have a particularly robust nature and their dimensions can adapt to the desired size. They are therefore suitable for larger series or large-area motifs.

The engraving of the respective embossing stamps is selected and adjusted according to the workpiece material, application and the desired result. We use the modern CNC machining, so that it is possible for us to mill the embossing stamps particularly precisely and filigree.
